Jim Davis is an American cartoonist（漫畫家），best known as creating the highly successful comic strip Garfield，which has been shown since 1978 and grew to become the most well-known comic strip in the world.
Davis was born in Mario，Indiana on July 28，1945.He grew up on a small farm with his father，mother，brother and 25 cats.
Davis attended Ball State' School where he studied art and was known for getting the lowest scores in the history of the school.
Before creating Garfield，Davis worked for a local advertisement company.After that，he started his own company Paws，Inc.In 1981 in Muncie，Indiana，where he，and his workers continued to produce things about Garfield.He married Carolyn，a singer and teacher whom he met at the school，and had a son and named James.
