2.My son,Jared, was born blind.Fortunately,I learned from his teacher about a life-changing organization,Seedlings Braille Books for Children, founded by Debra Bonde.
Debra just wanted to find a volunteer job she could do without having to talk to anyone. So,she signed up for a braille transcription (盲文抄寫) class.Later, she began transcribing popular children's books, printing them on a braille printer her father had made, and selling them for just the cost of the paper.
Word spread among parents and teachers of blind children, and demand grew for more of her books. In 1984 friends helped her to establish a nonprofit organization so she could get grants (補助金) and donations to help with production costs. She named it Seedlings Braille Books for Children because she believes that if you give a child a book, the love for reading will grow. That first year, she printed 221 books.
From its beginnings 37 years ago,Seedlings has produced and given away more than 600,000 books across the world. They give half of their books away for free. The other half are sold for an average price of only $10 each, about half the cost of producing them.
As a mother,I was grateful that Seedlings provided typical experience for Jared in school.Seedlings supplied braille books to the libraries of the schools Jared attended so he could check out books just like his sighted classmates.Today,Jared,a software engineer,is married with two children. And he uses Seedling books to read to his sighted children.Since 2012,Jared has been working for Seedlings, making a difference in the lives of blind children, the way Seedlings did for him.

3.In the summer of 2021 the world's longest treetop walkway will be opening in one of the most beautiful areas of the world, the Alpine resort of LAAX,Switzerland. So,after a long winter, people looking for a much-needed adventure in the great outdoors will be able to experience a real "first",as they're welcome to experience the Swiss landscape from a completely different point of view.
The 1.5 km treetop walk will be built in the canopy (樹冠) of the trees up to 28 meters above the ground. One of the project's most interesting parts will be the 73-metre-long slide, which visitors can use to spiral (盤旋) down from the trees above back to earth, designed for all of the family.Four platforms along the slide with seats throughout and a unique view of the symbolic Alpine landscape also offer a different natural experience for the whole family, with opportunities to teach children about the local plants and animals thanks to the information boards along the way.
In keeping with the region's green and sustainable (可持續的) ideas, the treetop walk is being built entirely from local wood, designed to mix with the surrounding nature, therefore keeping the impact on the environment to a minimum.Indeed, during the winter months the walkway will be freed of snow using an electric snowblower, both quieter and more sustainable than a gas-powered alternative, enabling visitors to use the walkway all year round.
Martina Calonder,a spokesperson for LAAX,said, "Many of us are dreaming of an escape in the great outdoors this year, and this treetop walk will be the perfect choice. It is also an ideal place for parents wishing to reconnect their children with fresh mountain air and wildlife."

A.To give directions.
B.To introduce local wildlife.
