Similar pilot programs are also underway in Australia,Iceland, and Spain. One study found that more than 8 million US workers switched to a four-day schedule between 1973 and 2018.

As one participant put it,reducing hours "shows increased respect for the individual. We are not just machines that just work…We are persons with desires and private lives, families and hobbies." • 3.Study shows that blue spaces are naturally calming.
Being in green spaces and connecting with nature is good for your physical and mental health. In Japan, forest bathing has been used to decrease stress, anxiety, and even to treat mild depression.
Now,scientists have discovered that blue spaces—natural waterways—are also connected to better mental health.A population-based study published in Scientific Reports looked at the effect of urban waterways on mental health and found that proximity to water increased positive feelings of well-being.
"If you are in a body of water, your internal state just becomes calm," Dr Natalie Azar,NBC News medical contributor, told TODAY. "It's something that I think we've all experienced, but we've never really been intentional about."
Just being near water could augment mental health.Being near water gives people a sense of awe, reported TODAY,because it gives people a consciousness of something greater than jye.aimselves.The sounds and movement of water gets people to focus their attention—like meditation—and this invites calm.
"You do not have to go to the coast to experience this well-being," said Azar,"but any waterway will do,including lakes, rivers, canals,or ponds.Even a flowing fountain will work."
A new study conducted by King's College London also proved that spending time near urban canals and rivers is linked to feeling happy and healthy. The researchers used Urban Mind,a smartphone app,to collect real-time data about the participants' location and well-being.
The study also found that there were continuous improvements to mental well-being for up to hours after visiting urban waterways. This is all good news for urban citizens. The availability of spaces in nature—both green and blue—will help calm their anxiety, stress, and help boost mental health.

(1)What is mentioned as a method of reducing stress and anxiety in Japan?

            A.Painting walls green.
            B.Staying in the forest.

            C.Improve.
            D.Require.
(3)What does Azar advise people to do?

In late February,my dad asked me if I wanted to go fishing with him.I said yes.My whole family, minus one of my sisters, would be going.
On the day we left I was excited to go on the trip.As soon as we got there,I unpacked all the things I had in the bedroom. My bedroom was small and had two bunk beds on either side of the room. The room made me feel like I was in someone's grandma's house. It was late by the time we got to the house,so I went to bed quickly.
The next morning I got up and my dad said that we would board the boat for just something to do.As we were in the car,I noticed that it was raining pretty hard outside.
Just then another boat approached us.A man with heavy beard shouted at us,claiming that it was not a good day for boating. He warned us to go back, but we thought nothing of it.The boat was pretty nice.It had a covering over the front side of the boat and seats in the back.
We got out to the water, and the waves started to pick up a little. As we got out to the water a little farther I thought to myself,"Wouldn't it be funny if the boat starts sinking?"
Apparently,my thought was starting to come into reality,as the waves started picking up even more.I looked at my sister with a worried look on my face. She also looked worried.
The boat started tipping more as the waves spilled into the boat.My sister and I started screaming.I looked at my dad and he had a worried look on his face too. That was how I knew that things were getting worse.
My dad usually never gets worried about these sorts of things. The water was about knee high on my sister and me.The boat kept rocking from side to side.
