29.We drove the day before from Lake Nakuru to Amboseli National Park. The drives across Kenya were an enjoyable experience. My husband Charliehad been looking forward to this day for a year.Seeing Mount Kilimanjaro was at the top of his wish list. When we drove in,we got our first sight of Mount Kilimanjaro, and she did not let us down.We arrived at the holiday center,Amboseli Sopa Lodge, which is in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. This area is between Nairobi and the Kenyan Coast and is known for its large elephant herds (群) and views of the great Mount Kilimanjaro across the Tanzania border (邊境).We spent the day with our small group and our guide,Alex, out on the game drive, and saw so much wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, cheetahs and all kinds of birds. We saw so many herds of elephants. If you love elephants, this is the place for you. Then we ate an outdoor lunch.Breaking bread with people all over the world was something that brought me great pleasure. This meal was one of the best of the trip for me.I truly believe that one of the keys to world peace and the end of prejudices (偏見) is walking a mile in someone else's shoes and eating a meal with people from different cultures. This was our last day of game drives before we headed the next morning back to Nairobi to begin our journey home.In my next blog (博客) post,I am going to write down my thoughts on the African trip, but I want to share this now:If one of your dreams is to go on a trip to see wild animals in Africa, you should just do it. I will forever treasure my time in Kenya.I dream of returning because Africa has such different landscapes (風(fēng)景) to the USA.The experience is unlike anything else I have ever experienced.
