Food
There are usually professional books at the stations ，but there few chances for them to make full use of their abilities .People in Antarctica usually eat canned （罐裝的） or frozen food .China will send most of there food by sea .Sometimes they buy fresh vegetables from Chile .Potatoes and onions are common choices because they can be kept for a long time.
Clothing
The winter jackets ，hats and gloves they wear are specially made for cold weather .Their clothes are in bright colors like red and orange so the wearer can be easily seen by others .A pair of sunglasses is a must - have .Looking at the snow and ice for a long time can hurt your eyes if you don't wear them.
Housing
More than 30 countries have built research stations in the Antarctic .The biggest research station is McMurdo Station ，which was built by the United States in 1956.It has more than 200 buildings ，including hospitals ，theaters and bars .Most of the other stations are much smaller .For example ，China's Taishan Station has only one main building with three floors .It was made out of metal and look like a lantern .Its heaters keep people warm indoors ，with the temperature around 20℃.
