Liu Shuangrui，a 15-year-old boy from Liaoning Province，started to wear glasses at the age of 5.Twenty-five of the 38 students in Liu's class wear glasses.Does this sound anything like your class？It's reported by the National Health Commission（國家衛生委員會） that about 60 to 80 percent of Chinese between the ages of 13 and 19 are near-sighted.But young people aren't the only ones with vision problems in China.China has the world's large population of near-sighted people at 450 million.That's about one-third of the country's population.This number has risen to 700 million by 2020.
"This is mainly due to the long time near-distance use of the eyes when people are studying or working，" Wang Ningli，a doctor at Beijing Tongren Hospital，told China News Service.Many people spend a great deal of time staring at books and electronic devices（電子設備），which causes eye problems.
In addition，many people know that reading under dim light is bad for one's eyes.So they try to read only under bright light.However，if the light is too bright，it can also cause eye problems.
Eating too much sugar is another reason.It is believed that eating too much sugar can harm your eyes as well，CCTV News reported.Too much sugar in the body can cause a shortage of vitamin B1.A lack（缺少）of vitamin B1 is very bad for your eyes and can make your eyesight worse.
