My dad is a helpful police off and I respect him very much.In his spare time，he likes volunteering to give lectures on law to the children in our community.
I remember my father took a special care of a family made up of a struggling single father，Jack，and his three sons.The elder boys seemed kind and understanding while the youngest boy，Tom，was naughty and wild.When helping Jack in life and work，my father always taught his children to obey the law.
During one visit，my dad and Jack had a deep conversation.During their talk，Jack expressed his concern about the future of his youngest boy，and said， "As we know，Tom is a clever boy，but he is too competitive.He always behaves badly at school.For some reason，he fought with his classmate again yesterday.I don't know how to deal with him." Obviously，he felt powerless to guide Tom.So，he asked for my father's advice and ideas. "Will you allow your boy to leave the city for a few days？I want to take him to spend the summer with my son in the suburbs（郊區(qū)） of our hometown." My dad offered the only solution he could think of on the spot.However，Jack agreed and was grateful to my father.
My dad decided that it would be good for Tom to see another side of family life，which he had never been experiencing.Then he discussed the plan with me.I couldn't agree more.
When the summer vacation came，we had a new member，Tom，in our family.Although we seemed very unfamiliar to him，he had no trouble adapting to the new home environment.Amazingly，we found that he was an honest and open boy and got along well with the whole family.He seemed to like playing in the backyard and particularly enjoyed swimming in the pool.Wherever my father went，he took both of us with him.It wasn't long before Tom and I became good friends.I felt so lucky to have him with me，and I even shared everything interesting with him.
