          發布:2025/6/30 5:0:15

          第一部分 閱讀第一節閱讀下列短文,從每題所給的A、B、C、D四個選項中選出最佳選項。

          • 1.There is an old joke among pilots that says the ideal flight crew is a computer,a pilot and a dog.The computer's job is to fly the plane. The pilot is there to feed the dog.And the dog's job is to bite the pilot if he tries to touch the computer.
Handing complex tasks to computers is not new.But recent progress in machine learning,a subfield of artificial intelligence (AI),has enabled computers to handle many problems which were previously beyond jye.aim.The result has been an AI boom, with computers moving into everything from medical diagnosis and insurance to self-driving cars.
There is a problem, though.Machine learning works by giving computers the ability to train themselves, which adapts their programming to the task at hand.People struggle to understand exactly how those self-written programs do what they do.When algorithms(計算機程序)are doing small tasks, such as playing chess or recommending a film to watch, this "black box" problem can be safely ignored. When they are deciding who gets a loan,or how to drive a car through a crowded city,it is potentially harmful. And when things go wrong, then customers, regulators and the courts will want to know why.
For some people this is a reason to hold back AL France's digital-economy minister,Mounir Mahjoubi, has said that the government should not use any algorithm whose decisions cannot be explained. But that is an overreaction. The difficulties caused by clever computers are not unheard- of.Society already has plenty of experience dealing with problematic black boxes;the most common are called human beings, who can't even figure out what's going on in a brajye.ai.In response to the weakness in humans, society has evolved a series of workable coping mechanisms, called laws, rules and regulations. Many of these can be applied to machines as well.
Humans have worked with computers on complex tasks for decades. One lesson from such applications is that, wherever possible, people should supervise(監督)the machjye.aies.In that joke, pilots are vital in case something happens that is beyond the scope of artificial intelligence. As computers spread, companies and governments should ensure the first line of defence is a real person who can overrule the algorithms if necessary.

(1)Why is the joke mentioned in Paragraph 1?

            A.To make people laugh.
            B.To foresee future aeroplane industry.
C.To introduce the latest model of aeroplanes.
D.To raise people's awareness of computers performing complex tasks.
(2)What has caused the increasing application of computers in various fields?

            A.The shortage of labor force.
            B.The rise of artificial intelligence.
            C.The encouragement of government.
            D.The development of medical economy.
(3)Why are some people opposed to AI?

            A.Black boxes always go wrong.
            B.Laws forbid machine learning.
C.They don't understand how AI works.
D.Computers are trying to replace human beings.

          • 2.Singapore is trying a new way to get its residents to stay away from each ojye.air.The government announced it would start using Spot,Boston Dynamics' famous yellow and black robot dog in a local park.
Authorities said the four-legged robot "dog" will patrol the area and broadcast a prerecorded message to visitors to remind them of the importance of social distancing. The device will also be equipped with cameras that will look at the surroundings carefully and help officials calculate the number of people gathering in parks.
"These cameras will not be able to track or recognize specific individuals, and no personal data will be collected," the government said. The new measure is an experiment to improve enforcement of social distancing throughout Singapore. The pilot project is put into trial use for two weeks at one park during off-peak hours. But if all goes well, authorities will consider expanding the program. The government says it's also using Spot in another capacity-at a local isolation facility where the robot helps patients carry medicine.
Spot went viral almost overnight in a series of online videos several years ago, showing that it could run uphill, climb stairs or even get you a drink. It is generally used for inspections on construction sites or similar situations, according to Boston Dynamics. It also has been used for public safety reasons, such as helping "inspect dangerous packages from long-distance," the company states on its website.
Singapore's government said that it had picked the model for its flexibility. "Unlike wheeled robots,Spot works well across different terrains and can navigate and avoid obstacles effectively, making it ideal for operation in public parks and gardens," it noted. For now,at least one park ranger will be patrolling the area along with the robot, according to authorities.

(1)What is Spot employed for in a park in Singapore?

            A.Isolating patients.
            B.Inspecting dangerous packages.
            C.Helping enforce social distancing.
            D.Tracking and recognizing specific individuals.
(2)What can we know from Paragraph 3?

A.A pilot will operate the robot dog.
B.The government is expanding the project.
C.Spot is being used in hospitals to help patients.
D.Spot doesn't patrol the park during rush hours.
(3)What does the underlined phrase probably mean in Paragraph 4?

            A.Was created.
            B.Became a hit.
            C.Went public.
            D.Sold out.
(4)Why has Singapore's government chosen Spot?

            A.It has great adaptability.
            B.It is equipped with cameras.
C.It is not like a wheeled robot.
            D.It works well from long-distance.

          • 3.    ON TUESDAY,the Shenzhen team of Blue Sky Rescue, confirmed (確認) that two of its members had died trying to rescue 24 tourists.
According to the official news,it was on Monday that the rescue team received a call from 24 travelers, who were trapped,in a river valley.
The team responded immediately. However, when they helped the travelers, two team members got trapped by the rising river water. The next day, they were confirmed dead.
Who can rescue the rescuers? The question aroused a heated discussion among people. Most of them think we would rather such "heroic deeds" were not required. In the past several years, there have been many cases in which travelers, ignoring the signs saying certain areas are dangerous and off-limits (禁止進入的),ended up needing to be rescued.By so doing, they put not only their own lives at risk but also the lives of those who go to their aid.
Although the majority of travelers behave properly, some attempt challenging tasks that are obviously beyond their abilities.
The law has already made it clear that if a traveler or group gets into difficulties when entering unauthorized (未經許可的) regions, they must bear the costs of the rescue. The rules need strengthening to deter travelers from putting their own lives and the lives of others at risk.

(1)How many travellers were trapped in a river valley?

            A.24.
            B.2.
            C.42.
            D.26.
(2)What happened to the two rescue workers?

            A.They lost her way.
B.They were trapped on the mountain.
C.They died in the rescue work.
            D.They were seriously injured.
(3)What is the writer's attitude towards some tourists?

            A.Caring.
            B.Negative.
            C.Understanding.
            D.Positive.
(4)What does the underlined phrase deter…from in the last paragraph mean?

            A.protect…from
            B.stop…from
            C.excuse…from
            D.separate…from

          第二節

          • 5.    The writing assessment has become an all-important feature of the test, both nationwide and worldwide.(1)
Here are a few ideas that might be helpful.
                (2)
One of the things graders look for in the writing section is the ability to apply knowledge to the real world.Practice with your child by having them write detailed descriptions of something that applies to the real world. And give examples to back it up and support their views.
Use descriptive language.Great writers know how to use descriptive language effectively.Ask students to go into detail and depth regarding any subject they plan to write about.(3)
Have them then write a paragraph or an essay detailing how someone could try that hobby. They should include materials needed, setting up a hobby area and results to expect.Repeated exposure to detailed writing will greatly increase their ability to communicate in writing.
Write supporting details to back up statements.Being able to support what you say is considered an excellent writing technique.Test scorers want to see that students can make statements that they can back up.The evidence for the statement should be based on real-world facts and ideas as well as their own personal perspective.(4)
They write them via both their own experience and opinion.
Research shows that students need to work on their ability to communicate in writing using logical sentences and excellent grammatical structure.(5)
And then they can show the test scorers that they know what they are talking about. With time, they will be able to do this on a higher level and you should see an increase in their scores on their writing assessment.

            A.Use examples from nature.
            B.Make text-to-world connections.
C.Good writers don't just write about facts.
D.Practice by giving them a topic, such as a favorite hobby.
E.So,how do you help your child improve their essay writing skills?
F.Their ability to answer questions has a lot to do with their writing score.
G.More importantly, they should feel free to express their views via the written text.

          • 9.    Prissy came to us as a puppy,a little black Pekinese mix with the cutest face.As cute as she was,Prissy had one major flaw —she couldn't even find her way home from the mailbox.
We spent half our time hunting for that dog.We live in a rural community of northwest Georgia —mostly woods and a small lake. She loved that lake, and spent most days patrolling the water's edge for frogs.
Prissy didn't always stay by the lake, though. She liked to explore.Consequently,it became an almost weekly ritual to look for her.We rescued her from a boot camp for troubled teens,a neighbor's house six miles away, and even once from fifty feet up an oak tree.
Prissy was smart but she never paid attention to where she was going. She would just put her nose to the ground and start following a squirrel, rabbit or stray cat. When she finished her mission she would have no idea how she got wherever she ended up.
After a while, most of our closer neighbors knew her.Consequently, she never really "had" to find her way home because she would just go to the nearest front door and cry and whine until they let her in.They'd call, and we'd drive over and get her.If we weren't home, they would just load her in their car and bring her home.
However, one time when she wandered off,no calls came in.
She had been missing for about fourteen hours, and none of our neighbors had seen her,so we decided to search by car.We drove up and down the surrounding roads calling out to her, driving slowly and checking house to house. After driving several miles in the surrounding area,we became discouraged and decided to head home to regroup and figure out what to do next.
            注意:
