          發布:2025/7/7 12:0:23

          第一部分閱讀理解 (共兩節,滿分30分)第一節 (共4小題;每小題6分,滿分30分)閱讀下列短文,從每題所給的A、B、C和D四個選項中,選出最佳選項。

          • 1.Last spring,I was fortunate to be chosen to join in an exchange study programme. The moment I arrived in Paris,I was greeted by a nice French couple who would become my host parents. The bit of French I had taken in high school began coming out of my mouth;speaking the language would only become more natural over the course of the term.At the airport,we all got into the couple's car and began the journey to their townhouse. We talked the whole way, getting to know one another.
Every day afterwards,I would eat breakfast with the two of them, and then we'd all go our separate ways for the day.In the evening,my host mother would make delicious dinners for the three of us.My experience was exciting until I received some shocking news from my programme coordinator(協調人):There had been a death in my host parents' family and they would have to be away for several weeks to deal with all the business that arose from the death. That afternoon,I had to move out of the family's house and into another.
The coordinator told me I'd have a roommate and asked whether I would mind sharing a bedroom with an English speaker. To avoid speaking my native language,I asked not to be placed with an English-speaking roommate. When I got to my new room,I introduced myself to my new roommate Paolo,a Brazilian(巴西人),the same age as I,whom I was surprised to find playing one of my favourite CDs on his computer! In just a few hours,we knew we'd be good friends for the rest of the term.
I left France with many stories,so when people ask me what my favourite part of the trip was, they always hear about my Brazilian friend Paolo and the weekdays in class, weeknights in the town, and weekends exploring France we enjoyed together.I would recommend an exchange programme to anyone who wants to experience foreign cultures and gain meaningful friendships.

          • 4.Lost cities that have been found The White City
In 2015,a team of explorers to Honduras in search of "the Lost City of the Monke God" led to the discovery of the White City. They found the ruins in the Mosquitia region of the Central American country which is known for poisonous snakes, vicious jaguars and deadly insects. It is believed that local people hid here when the Spanish conquerors(征服者) occupied their homeland in the16th century.
               Canopus and Heracleion
Modern researchers were teased by the ancient writings about the Egyptian cities Canopus and Heracleion- where Queen Cleopatra often visited. But the cities weren't found until 1992,when a search in Alexandria waters found that the two cities had been flooded for centuries.Artifacts(史前器物)showed that the cities once highly developed as a trade network, which helped researchers piece together more about the last queen of Egypt.
               Machu Picchu
A Yale professor discovered "the Lost City in the Clouds" in 1911.A combination of palaces, plazas, temples and homes,Machu Picchu displays the Inca Empire at the height of its rule. The city, which was abandoned in the 16th century for unknown reasons, was hidden by the local people from the Spanish conquerors for centuries keeping it so well preserved.
               Troy
The ancient city of Troy in homer's The Iliad was considered a fictional setting for his characters to run wild. But in 1871,explorations in northwestern Turkey exposed nine ancient cities layered(層疊)on top of each other, the earliest dating back to about 5,000 years before. It was later determined that the sixth or seventh layer contained the lost city of Troy and that it was actually destroyed by an earthquake, not a wooden horse.

(1)Why did people hide in the White City in the 16th century?

            A.To survive the war.
B.To search for a lost city.
            C.To protect their country.
            D.To avoid dangerous animals.
(2)Which of the following was related to a royal family member?

            A.The White City.
            B.Canopus and Heracleion.
            C.Machu Picchu.
            D.Troy.
(3)What can we learn about Troy?

            A.It was built by Homer.
            B.It consisted of nine cities.
            C.It had a history of 5,000 years.

            組卷:4引用:1難度:0.5

          第二節(共1小題; 每小題10分,滿分10分)根據短文內容,從短文后的選項中選出能填入空白處的最佳選項。選項中有兩項為多余選項。

          • 5.Not all lessons can be learnt in a classroom environment.Overall development of students demands that they get the opportunity to participate in after-class activities in school. (1)
Students are given a chance to join in activities like sports, art, music, etc, and they can get the required break from dull classroom learning.
In some schools, participating in these activities is made compulsory while some keep it voluntary for students. There is a common mistaken belief that these events are not as important as regular learning. (2)
Here is what students could learn by participating in them.
               (3)
These are skills that are essential to meet the demands of a busy working life and are best if developed early. As adults, they'll need to schedule several tasks in professional and personal life reasonably.
Just as classrooms have different subjects to teach students,after-class activities in school also give them a chance to explore new kinds of art and sports. (4)

Participating in after-class activities in school requires the students to commit to them for some time.Through this they learn the concept of long-term commitment. (5)
Participating in particular events in school trains the child to make commitments sensibly and to stick to them
            A.This gives them required discipline.
B.It directs their attention in the wrong direction.
C.Active participation will help to raise self-respect.
B.This helps them understand where their interest lies.
E.Students can learn to manage their time and priorities.
F.This is why some top schools aim for a perfect balance.
G.Contrarily, they develop qualities in students like team spirit.

          • 6.You May Need a Few Minutes of Brisk Activity Walking from room to room, running up and down stairs to deliver folded laundry,or taking a jog around the block...Which ones would best help or hurt your brain?A recent study attempted to answer that question by strapping(綁上) activity monitors to the thighs of nearly 4,500 people in the United Kingdom and(1)
their 24-hour movements for seven days.Researchers then examined how participants' behavior affected their short-term memory,problem-solving and processing skills.
Here's the good news.People who spent "even small amounts of time in more vigorous activities——as little as six to nine minutes——compared to sitting, sleeping or.jye.ai activities had(2)
cognition scores,"said study author John Mitchell.
                Moderate physical activity is(3)
defined as brisk walking or bicycling or running up and down stairs.Vigorous movement(4)
dancing, jogging, running, swimming to biking up a hill —— basically any activity that is able to(5)
            your heart rate and breathing.
The study found that doing just under 10 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) each day led to(6)
in study participants' working memory. In addition,10 minutes of MVPA had its biggest impact on executive processes such as(7)
            and organization.
                The cognitive improvement was(8)
,but the research found that the benefits grew the more time a person spent(9)
in the activity of an energetic workout,Mitchell said.
"Now that we don't monitor participants' cognition over the course of many years, the results of this study may simply be telling us that those individuals who move more tend to have higher cognition on average,"he said."While on the other hand, the results do also imply that even making(10)
changes to our daily lives can have(11)
            consequences for our cognition."
There was bad news as well.Spending more time sleeping, sitting or engaged only in mild movement was linked to a negative impact on the brain. The study found cognition declined 1% to 2% after replacing an(12)
portion of MVPA with eight minutes of sedentary(久坐的)behavior, six minutes of light intensity or seven minutes of sleep.
Additional studies need to be done to(13)
these findings and to better understand the role that each type of activity plays(14)
our cognitive abilities. However,Mitchell said, the study "highlights how even very modest differences in people's daily movements—— less than 10 minutes——can be linked to the(15)
of quite real changes to our cognitive health."

It's been two years when I joined the campus radio station. During this time, I had done several interviews. Every time I finish to writing an article, I am proud of myself for able to introduce my schoolmates to the things I've seen. It was difficult at times, but when I saw my stories publish in our school newspaper, you knew that it was something worth doing. My parents, teachers and schoolmates congratulated me on that I did. I felt happily when I shared a new story with them. The greatest thing about being the reporter is being able to share your thought with others.
